    Founded in 1908 in Zurich, Solis began when researcher Dr. W. Schaufelberger created the first electric heating pillow to relieve his rheumatism — sparking a century-long legacy of Swiss innovation and everyday comfort.

  • 1933: Hairdryer production in Zurich

    By 1933, Solis had developed its first hairdryer in Zurich, pioneering the brand’s move into beauty technology.
    The company expanded its production in 1944 and, by 1948, opened a second facility in Rancate, Ticino, marking its growth across Switzerland.

  • 1933: The First Solis Hair Dryer made of Metal & Wood

    Solis launches its first hairdryer — a sturdy nickel-plated model with a wooden handle, crafted entirely in-house. Powerful, safe, and built to last, it set the standard for Swiss-made quality.

  • 1943: Relocation of production to Ticino

    Solis relocated production south to support Switzerland’s post-war recovery effort.
